Airport buses run from the airport to Glasgow city centre up to every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, and take approximately 25 minutes.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport
(PIK) is 32 miles (51km) South West of the city. It’s a main base for Ryanair and serves European destinations.
Getting to the city centre for Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Prestwick has its own train station. There are 3 trains per hour on weekdays and the journey to Glasgow Central Station takes around 50 minutes.

Edinburgh Airport
(EDI) is 39 miles (63km) from Glasgow and serves most major international airlines. You can get to Glasgow from the airport by either bus, train or taxi.
Scottish Citylink provides direct bus services from Edinburgh Airport to Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station every 30 minutes. Alternatively you can catch a bus or taxi to Edinburgh Haymarket and then catch a train to Glasgow Queen Street Station. Lothian Buses provides public transportation to Edinburgh Airport with the Airlink100 express bus from Edinburgh city centre as well as local bus services.
Glasgow Queen Street Station provides the main rail link between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with 8 direct services per hour on weekdays.
By Rail
Glasgow is well connected by train from across the UK.
Glasgow Central Station links Glasgow by rail to all UK cities. Glasgow Queen Street Station operates routes mainly to Central and Northern Scotland. The main UK train companies operating in Scotland are:

By Road
Scotland has an extensive motorway road network.

By Sea
Travel from Ireland to Scotland by ferry
Travelling by ferry from the major ports of Belfast and Larne to Cairnryan or Troon in SW Scotland, is a popular option for Irish visitors. Fast, modern ferries take around 2 hours, depending on the route and service.
The port of Troon in Ayrshire is 35 miles from Glasgow while Loch Ryan Port, Cairnryan, in Dumfries & Galloway, is 80 miles away. Both enjoy good road, rail and bus links with Glasgow.
Stenaline runs up to 6 daily crossings between Cairnryan and Belfast. The crossing takes 2 ¼ hours. Travel from Cairnryan to Glasgow is provided by Scottish Citylink or a shuttle bus can take passengers to Stranraer railway station, which offers an hourly service to Ayr.
P&O Ferries run up to 9 sailings per day on the shortest, fastest crossing between Larne & Cairnryan. The marginally longer Troon-Larne service has 2 crossings per day & operates between March and October.
Travel to Scotland from overseas
Travelling to Scotland by ferry is popular from a number of European countries. Ferries run from the Netherlands to Hull in the north east of England, around 4 hours drive from the Scottish border, and from Amsterdam to Newcastle, around 2 hours 40 minutes drive from Glasgow.
