Update May 27th 2020 – E&PDE goes virtual!
Our organizing committee have been anxiously following the development of the Covid-19-situation and how this may effect the conference in September. After careful consideration, the decision has been made to create a virtual conference this year, as we anticipate that many will be unable (or feel unsafe) to travel in September.

Our goal is still to facilitate communication across borders and to discover new research within the fields of design and engineering education. We are now working hard to plan and structure the virtual conference and will update the website as soon as possible. We therefore ask for your patience and understanding during this process.

Our aim for the virtual conference is to ensure that people across the world can participate, allowing maximum accessibility and usability, timezone considerations etc. and to make the conference as dynamic and including as possible.

We look forward to seeing you in a new virtual space!

The 22nd International Conference on Engineering and Product Design Education will be hosted by VIA Design, VIA University in Herning, Denmark.
The conference is organised in partnership with the Design Education Special Interest Group (DESIG) of the Design Society and the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED).

  • Workshops and Registration: 9th September 2020
  • Conference: 10 & 11th September 2020

The E&PDE conference will bring together representatives from education and industry who have an interest in sharing new perspectives on design education. The conference will provide a forum for educators, practitioners and students from product development, engineering and industrial design, together with industry to discuss current educational issues and the nature of design education now and in the future.

This year we will be continuing our Visual Papers track inviting papers with high visual content and less text. Information on this exciting new format can be found here.
